Many residents have never met DiLeo. But that’s because for more than a decade, he has been protecting Ossining while everyone was sleeping.

As a midnight tour supervisor he was responsible for ensuring the safety of Ossining during “the witching hour.”

His superiors and coworkers said he did a great job and everyone is sad to see him leave the department. A going away party was thrown for the sergeant, and recently-retired Ossining police chief Joe Burton presented DiLeo with an official “retired” badge.
